Ultimate Guide To Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

NOTE – Select rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be updated to feature “fan-favorite characters from under the sea.” Disney has noted that the rooms will be located in the Trinidad area of the resort and will feature new furnishings and accommodate more guests. An opening date has not been announced yet. Check out a FIRST LOOK at the new rooms HERE!

Overview

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is one of Disney World’s Moderate Resorts. It is located in the EPCOT resort area and is themed with tropical vibes that capture the essence of five different Caribbean islands including Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad, and Aruba. With buildings that are designed like colonial forts, a dining area themed after the lively markets in the Caribbean, and beaches with hammocks all across the resort, you might forget that you’re actually in Florida.

What makes this hotel so unique is that it offers Pirate-themed rooms in one section (think Pirates of the Caribbean). Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is also home to the Disney Skyliner main station, so you can get to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with ease.

Centertown Market – Centertown Market is Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort’s main Quick Service location and can be found in the main building, Old Port Royale. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is themed to feel like you’re walking down an indoor street market with several little booths with small menus. When it comes to the food, you’ll find both classic and Caribbean-inspired dishes for each meal like chicken strips, burgers, jerk chicken bowls, and yuca & plantain chips.

Centertown Market

Centertown Market Grab & Go – Located right next to the Centertown Market in the main building (Old Port Royale) is the Centertown Market Grab & Go restaurant. Here you can find a selection of bakery items, snacks, bottled beverages, and specialty coffee options.

Spyglass Grill – If you don’t want to make the trek all the way to the main building for a bite to eat, Spyglass Grill can be found in the Trinidad pool area of the resort. It is a walk-up counter service restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features American eats with a “Caribbean twist” including dishes like a breakfast Cuban sandwich, Caribbean tacos, and a chopped jerk chicken salad with key lime vinaigrette. Alcohol is also available here.

Table Service

Sebastian’s Bistro – Sebastian’s Bistro (formerly Shutters) is the only sit-down Table Service restaurant at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. The menu is served family-style and features dishes that are inspired by Latin and Caribbean flavors. The meal here is often regarded as one of the best values across Disney World. Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 60 days in advance.

Lounges & Bars

Banana Cabana – Banana Cabana is the perfect spot to take a break from the pool and grab a drink or snack. It is located right next to the Fuentes del Morro Pool (the hotel’s main pool) and is home to a wide variety of signature cocktails (like the Island Time Seasonal Margarita and the Jamaican Frozen Runner), sangria, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and a full menu of quick snacks (including zesty jerk chicken wings, chile con queso, and loaded potato fries – yum!).

The lounge was updated in 2018 and now features an even more tropical atmosphere, so you might even want to skip the pool and opt to relax there instead!

Things To Do

  • Pools – there are 6 pools at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort with the largest being the Fuentes del Morro Pool. As the main pool for the hotel, it is themed to be a “colonial Spanish fortress” with 2 water slides and a shipwreck play area for smaller kids. In addition to the main pool, there are 5 leisure pools in each “village” at the resort. These tend to be less crowded.
Fuentes del Morro Pool
  • Campfire Activities – available 7 days a week from 5:30PM to 6:30PM at the main beach near Martinique.
  • Movies Under The Stars – available nightly at 7:30PM on Caribbean Cay Island.
  • Fishing
  • Volleyball – located at Martinique Village.
  • Jogging Trail – approximately 0.6 miles. See signage for the official route.
  • Playground
Pin trading is sometimes available in the lobby!

Pros

  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the only hotel where you can stay in pirate-themed rooms. The immersive setting adds a fun element to your Disney trip and could end up being the highlight for your littlest pirate fans.
  • If you’re hoping to eat more than just chicken fingers and burgers, you’ll be happy you stayed here! While you certainly can find the American classics, each restaurant also features dishes that are inspired by Caribbean Island flavors. So, you’re sure to enjoy more unique eats when you’re staying here compared to other hotels in Disney World.
  • Sebastian’s Bistro is one of the hidden gems when it comes to restaurants at Disney World and you’ll be only a short walk away from it when you’re staying here. Plus, because of your proximity to the restaurant, you’ll have a better chance at dining here without a reservation using the walk-up waitlist through the My Disney Experience app.

Cons

  • None of the buildings have elevators, making this resort less ideal for families who are traveling with strollers, ECVs and wheelchairs, or prefer not to climb stairs to get to their room. If you do choose to stay here and are unable to use the stairs, be sure to request a room on the first floor.
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the bigger hotels when it comes to how much land it spans. So, depending on where your room is located, you may have a long walk from your room to the main lobby where food and other amenities are located.
  • Due to the size of the hotel, Disney buses make multiple stops around the resort before making their way to the park, water park, or Disney Springs. This lengthens the time it takes to get between the parks and your hotel and, depending on which stop your room is closest to, you may have more trouble finding a seat on the bus and need to stand.
