Over the past few years, there have been a lot of changes to Disney World hotel guest perks. But, not necessarily for the better in the eyes of long-time fans.
In 2018, Disney implemented a fee for overnight guest parking at the resorts, Extra Magic Hours ended in 2020 and never came back in all its glory, and the free transportation between the Orlando airport and Disney World hotels with Disney’s Magical Express came to a halt in 2022. But, it seems that things may be taking a turn because Disney has announced that one hotel benefit is coming BACK!
Today, Disney announced that FREE overnight self-parking is returning for all guests staying at Disney World hotels starting TONIGHT, January 10th, 2023!
Disney initially made the change to begin charging for overnight parking back in 2018 and since guests have had to pay $15 per vehicle, per night at Value Resorts, $20 per vehicle, per night at Moderate Resorts, and $25 per vehicle, per night at Deluxe Resorts and Villas. But, this pricing structure is now GONE with Disney saying that guests “have asked us to bring [free parking] back, and we’re happy to reintroduce it to make your vacation a little easier and more affordable.”
Note that all Disney hotel guests will continue to be able to park at all the Disney Parks for FREE as well. So, basically, things are returning to their pre-2018 ways.
The complimentary self-parking joins other hotel guest perks currently offered including Early Theme Park Entry (allowing guests to enter any of the four theme parks 30-minutes early every day), Extended Evening Theme Park Hours (though, this is only available to guests at select Disney World hotels), and complimentary theme park transportation. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for any other major changes to hotel guest perks in Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to The VacationEAR for the latest!
