An Underrated Restaurant Is CHANGING At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

We’ve got some big Disney hotel restaurant news!

Over the past two years, Disney has been making some MAJOR changes at the resorts. For example, the rooms at both Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort received overhauls, and renovations are still rolling out in select rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa AND Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Plus, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is getting even more of a glow-up with a new coffee shop, updated rooms, and a brand-new bakery. But, that’s not all — now we’ve got an update from Disney on another restaurant change-up coming to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort!

According to Scott Gustin on Twitter, Trail’s End Restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will be closing for refurbishment this spring. Disney expects the restaurant to reopen later in 2023, but it won’t be the same table service restaurant we know and love — it will reopen as a marketplace concept with “expanded quick service options.”

Now, if you’re not familiar, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is a little different than other Disney World hotels when it comes to dining. For one, the “hotel” is really not a hotel at all…it’s campgrounds! So, instead of the traditional one quick service restaurant, one table service restaurant, and one bar/lounge that we’ve come to expect from Disney Moderate Resorts, there’s actually a quick service restaurant, snack bar, food truck, bar, a table service restaurant, and a dinner show — lots of options!

The changes to Trail’s End Restaurant won’t impact any of the other restaurants though, including Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, so you’ll still have plenty of dining options when the refurbishment begins.

As of now, we don’t have an exact date of when the restaurant will officially close, so be sure to get your reservation ASAP if you’re visiting soon! Trail’s End Restaurant is only open Thursdays through Sundays for breakfast and dinner, so keep that in mind when you’re planning.

Of course, we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates on the changes coming to this spot, so be sure to stay tuned to The VacationEAR for the latest!
