Pros

  • Beautiful Theming — The resort is themed after Spanish colonial Mexico and is absolutely stunning. The architecture, landscaping, and decor are all top-notch and will transport you to another world.
  • Convenient Location — Coronado Springs is located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, making it a great choice if you’re planning to spend a lot of time there. It’s also not too far from the other parks and has easy access to Disney’s free transportation options.
  • Great Amenities — The resort has plenty of amenities to keep you busy during your stay. There are multiple pools, including a huge main pool with a waterslide, hot tubs, a fitness center, and more. You’ll never run out of things to do!
  • Delicious Dining Options — Coronado Springs has some fantastic dining options, including the popular Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood restaurant on the rooftop of the Gran Destino Tower. You can also enjoy Mexican-inspired cuisine at Maya Grill or grab a quick bite at one of the many counter-service locations throughout the resort.
  • Quiet and Relaxing Atmosphere — While some Disney resorts can be quite loud and chaotic, Coronado Springs has a more relaxed and peaceful vibe. It’s a great place to unwind after a long day in the parks.

Cons

  • One of the main drawbacks of staying at Coronado Springs is that it is considered a convention resort. This means that if businesses are holding meetings or conferences at Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs is one of the main areas they will stay. This can result in a more adult-oriented atmosphere, with fewer families with children around. Additionally, the resort can become crowded and noisy during peak convention times.
  • Coronado Springs is not as conveniently located as some other Disney resorts. While it is centrally located and less than 10 minutes from each of the Disney World theme parks, you cannot walk to any of the parks. This means that you will need to rely on Disney transportation, which can sometimes be crowded and time-consuming.
  • Some guests have noted that there is a little less Disney magic at Coronado Springs compared to some of the other resorts. While the resort does have some Disney theming, it is more subtle and not as prominent as at some of the other resorts. This may be a drawback for guests who are looking for a more immersive Disney experience.
