The Disney Skyliner Is Now CLOSED For Refurbishment

It’s not uncommon to come across some construction when you’re visiting Disney World.

Some projects are small and don’t have much of an impact on your trip, like sidewalks that are getting fixed up or a building that’s being repainted. But, other projects can throw a big clinker in your plans, like an attraction that is closed for refurbishment or a pool at your hotel that’s getting some TLC. And, starting today there’s one closure that will have a MAJOR impact on your stay at the Disney Skyliner Resorts.

Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resort Skyliner Station

The Disney Skyliner is now CLOSED for refurbishment and will be unavailable to guests through next Sunday, January 29th. This closure has been on Disney’s refurbishment calendar for a little while now and doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the Disney Skyliner has been taken offline at the beginning of the year in the past for routine maintenance.

Guests staying at Disney’s Riviera ResortDisney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort will still be able to get to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios…it just might take a little longer. Free Disney bus transportation will be offered at all the resorts to the parks in addition to their normal service to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Head to the regular bus stop to get to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the closure!

We don’t expect any major changes to the Disney Skyliner during this closure period, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates. And, in the meantime, stay tuned to The VacationEAR for more of the latest Disney hotel news and tips!
