It can be hard to keep track of all the changes happening in the Disney World hotels. But, missing an update can make for some big (and unwelcome) surprises when you check-in.
Most recently, we’ve seen Chef Mickey reopen at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, MAJOR changes to the menu and atmosphere at Narcoossee’s in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and updated rooms start to open at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn (plus a new coffee shop joined the party in the lobby!). And, now we’ve got an update on another restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Back in January, it was rumored that Trail’s End Restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort would be closing. And — it’s official — as of today, April 17th, the table service restaurant is officially CLOSED for refurbishment.
And, by “refurbishment,” we mean it’ll never be the same.

According to Disney, the restaurant will reopen in summer 2023 as a marketplace-style quick service restaurant, NOT a sit-down restaurant. We’ll be on the lookout for more details as they are released.

Now, if you have a stay booked at Disney’s Fort Wilderness booked for the coming months, don’t panic! There are still plenty of other dining options here including P&J’s Southern Takeout and The Chuck Wagon food truck. Plus, there’s also the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue if you’re in the mood for a dinner show!
This closure will not impact any other restaurant at the hotel.

So, get ready for some new food at Disney’s Fort Wilderness soon! Stay tuned to The VacationEAR for the latest on this restaurant and other Disney hotel news!
