So far, the BoardWalk Bakery has transformed into the BoardWalk Deli (with an expanded menu), the Belle Vue Lounge at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has a new look, and there’s a brand new coffee shop in the lobby at the hotel! But, Disney isn’t done yet! Last year, they announced that the guest rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn would be renovated and now we’ve got a FIRST LOOK inside!
As part of Disney’s announcement that full housekeeping services would be returning to all the Disney World hotels, they shared some pictures from inside the new rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn!
As a refresher, here’s what the standard guest rooms have looked like at the hotel for years…
…and here’s what the updated rooms look like now! Talk about a MAJOR change!
The rooms now feature hardwood floors instead of carpet, taller beds with room underneath to store your suitcases, and updated lighting and furniture — all things we’ve seen as part of other Disney hotel room refurbishments over the past few years.
The guest rooms still have a subtle nod to the past with plaid headboards that are reminiscent of the wallpaper in the old rooms. But, overall it’s got a much more light and airy feel. Plus, take a peek at those Mickey and Minnie portraits in the background of this photo!
And, what’s a Disney hotel room without some Disney touches? Throughout all of the updated rooms, you’ll find artwork featuring Mickey and Minnie and other Disney characters enjoying Disney’s BoardWalk!
For example, in the photo below you can see a poster with Mickey and Minnie (and what looks like Donald and Daisy Duck) enjoying a swan boat ride in front of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Take a closer look at the other sneak peek photos to see if you can spot more of the artwork!
According to Disney, guests will be able to begin staying in the newly refurbished rooms over the “coming weeks,” so you might find yourself in them soon if you’ve got a stay booked! Just note that not all of the rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn have been refurbished — only a select few. You can request one of the renovated rooms when you check in, but there’s no guarantee.
Of course, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates from Disney’s BoardWalk transformation, so be sure to stay tuned to The VacationEAR for the latest! And, don’t forget to check out all the other room renovations happening at Disney World hotels here!
